"A
Helluva Way to Run a War" can be read in The 4 Redheads of the
Apocalypse, a chapbook collection of short stories about the new
horsemen . . . or rather, horsewomen. The 4 Horsemen of the
Apocalypse have died in an ice-shack fishing accident and now it's up
to the wives to take over. Unfortunately, they none married
women
suited to the task, having instead married high society
socialites. Each story is an attempt at one of the wives of
making a go at her new job. Why? Because Satan has
plans to
retire. As such, the best horsewoman gets the
promotion. As
the title indicates, I write War. Now that Ares is gone, War
has
a new name . . . Bunny. Check out more from Yard Dog Press
The
4 Redheads in: Apocalypse Now! This novel sequel to the 4
Redheads chapbook will be available from Yard Dog press in
2009. The Redheads are at it again, trying to get
rid of
their jobs. This time, they think they have the perfect plan
. .
. bring about the apocalypse early. Look for this novel in
early
2010 from Yard Dog Press. This novel, along with the original chapbook, are also available from Baen Books as an e-book.
"The
Goth Girl Next Door" in Fangs for the Mammaries, edited by Esther
Friesner is an anthology of humorous vampire stories set in suburbia.
In my story, your average, everyday coffin model is distressed to find
out that a monster hunter has just moved in next door. This anthology
is available from BAEN Books and was released in 2010.
"Prowling for Love" in Strip Mauled,
edited by Esther Friesner ... is an anthology of humorous werewolf
tales set in suburbia. My story is about a female werewolf who's
looking for love among furry fandom. Where better to find someone with
a fur fetish, right? Strip Mauled is available from BAEN Books and was
released October 2009.
"Always
Read the Fine Print" in Bash Down the Door & Slice Open the
Badguy…
is an anthology of humorous sword & sorcery tales. My
tale is
set in a pseudo Roman world. The main character, a wizard, is
attempting to animate a stuffed toy for his niece's birthday
party. Instead of giving the toy life, he gives it his
own.
Now he and his gladiator brother must go in search of a magical wand
that can reverse the effects. Check out the books at Fantasist

"Bubba
Seuss" in Flush Fiction, vol. 1. This anthology contains humorous flash
fiction pieces, hence the subtitle: Stories you can read in
one
sitting. My tale, as the title might suggest, is a Dr. Seuss
styled story-poem, written with the greatest admiration for the man who
first interested me not only in reading, but in fantasy as
well.
The poem is styled after his longer works for older readers. See what else is at Yard Dog Press
"The
American Way" is in The International House of Bubbas, the third in the
popular Bubbas of the Apocalypse anthology series. These
anthologies are set in a future in which the bulk of humanity has
either died or risen as zombies. Only bubbas were immune to
the
virus's effects. In the third volume, all the stories are set
outside the U.S. My tale is set in Canada, where my military
bubbas were cut off after the virus hit. Find all the Bubba books at Yard Dog Press
"Bubbot
vs Zombot" is in Houston, We've Got Bubbas, the fourth of the
Bubbas of the Apocalypse series. All the anthologies have a
future setting, in which a virus has wiped out humanity, creating
zombies and leaving bubbas to fight them off. This volume is
farther into the future with stories set on alien worlds, space
stations, space ships and on the moon. My story deals with
classic science fiction . . . a battle between giant robots.
The
zombies have created a spaceship crashing robot. And the
bubbas
stranded on the planet fight back the only logical way they see--with a
robot built from junk. Find all the Bubba books at Yard Dog Press
"Bubbot
vs Zombot" is in The Best of the Bubbas anthology, a joint project
between Yard Dog Press and BenBella Books. This collection
contains stories from all four of the previous anthologies.
My
story originally appeared in Houston, We've Got Bubbas. Check out

"The Plumber of Venice" in A Bubba in Time Saves None,
available from Yard Dog Press. This is the fifth of the Bubbas of the
Apocalypse series. In this anthology, bubbas and yumbies have been sent
throughout time by a time way. In my story, a construction crew gets
sent back to Renaissance Venice, where they attempt to fix the terrible
plumbing problem flooding the streets.
"Noir-lathotep"
in Cthulhu Unbound, vol. 1. This collection of stories blends the world
of H.P. Lovecraft with a variety of genres. So expect humor
and
horror both and expect the unexpected combination. My tale,
as
the title suggests, is a Film Noir tale, told in black &
white. The main character is Nyarlathotep, the God of 1000
aspects. Or rather, it's 999 now as one of them has been
murdered
and Nyarlathotep, the first and original aspect, feels compelled to
solve his own murder. This collection, and a volume 2, will
be
out soon from Permuted Press. Buy it from Permuted
Press or at Amazon.
