Tales
from My Dark Side
"The
Bone Church" appears in Cover of Darkness, from Sam's Dot Publishing.
This anthology contains a selection of dark short stories and poetry.
My tale is set at the Kutna Hora Ossuary where something has disturbed
the dead.
"A
Cure For All Ills" appears in History is Dead. The anthology
is a
collection of zombie stories set throughout
history. Mine
is in 1666 London, England, that period between the Great Plague and
Great Fire of London. A plague doctor, one of the last to
remain
in London discovers there are things worse than the black plague.

"Making
the Perfect Man" in Loving the Undead. In this anthology,
find
happy, sad, and horrific tales of mixed relationships -- human and
undead in every variety. My tale is a Haitian Voodoo tale
that's
dark and sad, dealing with disillusionment and empowerment.
As a
young girl, my main character had a crush on a boy who listened to the
dark spirits, the Petro loa. While she grew up to honor the
old
ways and become a Vodoun priestess, he turned to dealing
drugs.
Until the day came when a bullet nearly took his life, bringing him
back into hers. Check out From the Asylum Books
"Devil's
Bridge" in the 2006 FenCon Program Booklet. Every year,
FenCon
asks several of its guests to send in a story for their program
booket. So the booklet is more like a digest
magazine. In
this one, there are original stories by Alan Dean Foster, Lawrence
Watt-Evans, Christopher Fulbright, P.N. Elrod and Jim Butcher, to name
a few. My story is an age-old, good vs evil battle.
An
angel led army of holy knights attempt to take back a city of sin, a
city made that way by a special bridge that condemns the soul of
whoever crosses it. Our main characters are the demons
defending
that bridge. Go to the convention site for back-issues.

"The Star of Istanbul" in High Seas
Cthulhu. I co-wrote this story
with my husband, Christopher Donahue. Our tale is set during
the
Ottoman Empire. A fleet, sent by the sultan, carries an
ancient
artifact to the Venetian Doge. Their two lands possess the
only known
pedestals in which the artifact can rest and work its
"magic." But if
left in either pedestal for more than a decade, madness sweeps the
land. During this transfer, Cthulhu stirs in his slumbers and
sends a
band of Deep Ones to retrieve his stolen artifact. Check out Elder Signs Press
"Noir-lathotep"
in Cthulhu Unbound, vol. 1. This collection of
stories
blends the world of H.P. Lovecraft with a variety of genres.
So
expect humor and horror both and expect the unexpected
combination. My tale, as the title suggests, is a Film Noir
tale,
told in black & white. The main character is
Nyarlathotep,
the God of 1000 aspects. Or rather, it's 999 now as one of
them
has been murdered and Nyarlathotep, the first and original aspect,
feels compelled to solve his own murder. This collection, and
a
volume 2, are coming soon from Permuted
Press.
Linda
has two stories in Northern Haunts, a print anthology of flash horror
& ghost stories All the anthologies stories are set
in New
England. "The Asylum" is set in New Hampshire at a new
housing
site in which there once stood an old insane asylum.
In
"The Pukwudgie," a woman encounters one of those dark
creatures
from Native North American's mythology while in a Massachusetts forest.

"The
American Way" appears in The International House of Bubbas, the third
in the popular Bubbas of the Apocalypse anthology series.
These
anthologies are set in a future in which the bulk of humanity has
either died or risen as zombies. Only bubbas were immune to
the
virus's effects. While there's much humor in these stories, there's
also horror and a lot of blood & guts splatter. In
the third
volume, all the stories are set outside the U.S. My tale is
set
in Canada, where my military bubbas were cut off after the virus hit.

"Bubbot
vs Zombot" appears in Houston, We've Got Bubbas, the fourth of the
Bubbas of the Apocalypse series. All the anthologies have a
future setting, in which a virus has wiped out humanity, creating
zombies and leaving bubbas to fight them off. This volume is
farther into the future with stories set on alien worlds, space
stations, space ships and on the moon. My story deals with
classic science fiction . . . a battle between giant robots.
The
zombies have created a spaceship crashing robot. And the
bubbas
stranded on the planet fight back the only logical way they see--with a
robot built from junk. Check out more of Yard Dog Press's titles.
"Bubbot
vs Zombot" reappears in The Best of the Bubbas anthology.
This
anthology, a joint project between Yard Dog Press and BenBella Books
contains stories from all four of the previous anthologies.
My
story originally appeared in Houston, We've Got Bubbas. Check out the rest of BenBella Books
"Servant of the Abyss" in Visages into the Void. This
anthology is devoted to one of H.P.
Lovecraft's characters, Nyarlathotep. My story is set in
Yellowstone
National Park, where Nyarlathotep makes his appearance known.
